We are forever grateful to have had Luci as our doula for the birth of our first baby. As brand-new parents, we were unsure of what to expect, and our situation added extra layers of complexity. We live in a remote community and travelled to the Lower Mainland for the birth, including switching midwifery care partway through. Luci’s support was absolutely invaluable throughout this entire process.
From the beginning of our visits, she checked in with us daily and offered steady, reassuring guidance. Her prenatal visits were incredibly helpful, especially considering we didn’t even know how to change a diaper when we started! She met us exactly where we were, with patience, warmth, and zero judgment.
What truly set Luci apart was how she showed up for both my husband and me during the birth itself. Having her there made us feel deeply supported and cared for in a way that midwives and nurses (who are often stretched so thin in hospital settings) simply can’t always provide. Luci was a calm, mothering presence throughout the experience: grounding, reassuring, and attentive, without ever being overbearing or pushy. She offered so much solace and steadiness in moments when we needed it most.
Her background as a midwife and lactation consultant is an incredible added bonus she is an endless well of knowledge, wisdom, and practical support.
We would recommend Luci again and again to anyone looking for a doula to support them through birth. Our experience was profoundly better because of her, and we will always be grateful for the role she played in bringing our daughter into the world. Thank you Luci! ??
