Having Sam as our Doula was incredibly helpful and we cannot imagine our birth experience (leading up to, labor/delivery and postpartum ) without her. She is kind, knowledgeable, personable, and provided the support we needed for the birth of our child.
We were initially drawn to her reviews and from the moment we met with her on the phone we knew that she was the right fit for us!
She provided a plethora of educational materials and was a great resource if we had any follow up questions. She had great questions which aided into creating our birth plan.
She showed up within the hour of us arriving to the hospital and never left our side for 12 hours. She walked with me several times while I was in labor. She also suggested different positions to get me as comfortable as I could be. While I sat in the tub during active labor, she was there providing updates from what she could see on the monitors and we talked about various things which helped keep my mind off of the contractions.
When it was time to push, she had a fan and that kept me cool. Her presence was comforting and soothing. She continued to provide support during the hour of skin to skin and coached me on nursing tips.
She checked in with us the day after and came by for a visit once we got home. She was also responsive a few days post birth with additional questions we had.
The only thing I wish for in hindsight is that we would have known her for our first birthing experience, but we truly attest that it was the best experience the second time around because of her. We could never thank her enough!
