We worked with Sam through our local hospital (Swedish) as first-time parents. We really connected with Sam's easygoing nature and confident guidance. I ended up being induced late on a Friday night and Sam showed up for my admission and provided a sense of calm and helped counsel me through my induction options--many of which felt overwhelming and scary. When my water broke the next morning she arrived promptly and guided my husband and I through my 19-hour labor with a level head and encouragement. Sam was instrumental at keeping spirits high and providing balance when there were moments of stress or anxiety. She helped guide me through various labor positions that sped up my dilation and helped ensure I got to have a vaginal birth when there were concerns I might need a cesarean. I credit Sam's support with my positive birth experience, which ultimately made my post partum period much, much better.
