I genuinely cannot imagine my birth experience without Chelsey. This is my 3rd baby but my first natural one with a doula. I had two very traumatic previous pregnancies and labors. I wanted to do something different and better for myself this time. From the very beginning, Chelsey made me feel heard, respected, and fully supported in my wish for a low-intervention, natural birth. After two very long, eventful, and traumatic births, I honestly didn’t think a birth like this was even possible for me.
Chelsey had an incredible instinct for what I needed in the moment. I didn’t realize how much something as simple as peppermint would help my nausea until she suggested it, and it made a noticeable difference. She also consistently reminded me that I didn’t have to stay stuck in bed, that I could stand, move, and work with my body. Once I started laboring upright and moving instead of sitting or lying down in pain, everything shifted, and that’s what truly worked for me. My labor was extremely fast and intense, and things progressed quickly, like 3.5 hours total kind of quickly!
What meant the most to me was how deeply Chelsey respected my birth preferences. I wanted minimal intervention, delayed cord clamping, and the space to make informed decisions if circumstances changed. She advocated for me calmly and confidently, helped me communicate clearly with the medical team, and ensured my wishes were honored whenever possible. I never felt rushed, dismissed, or ignored.
If you are considering a doula, I cannot recommend Chelsey enough. She is intuitive, knowledgeable, steady under pressure, can adapt to any outcome and genuinely invested in protecting the birth experience of the families she supports. She didn’t just help me through labor, she helped me realize I was capable of a birth I never thought I’d get to have.
