Throughout my pregnancy, I so appreciated her quick, thoughtful advice, tips, and unwavering support whenever I needed it. I felt incredibly empowered and cared for. I always felt like I was in good hands and that she was truly in our corner.
I had a scheduled cesarean and was initially worried about what doula support would look like in that scenario. Kate went over how my husband and I wanted to be supported and totally catered to that. Kate was at the hospital with us and the level of care and reassurance she provided was incredible — especially as nervous first-time parents. Even my husband (who was a bit skeptical at first if we needed a doula) kept saying how this was the best decision ever. Kate truly came through for us during the recovery phase, breastfeeding, pumping, diaper changing and even giving us sleep breaks and making sure we are hydrated and eating.
We also appreciated and found value in the two follow-up house visits. Kate helped us with a million questions — from navigating feeding, to giving Lara her first bath, and so much more. Kate even took some precious photos at the hospital of us with our baby that captured some tender moments. I genuinely believe that a huge part of why we had such a positive first birth experience is because of having Kate's support.
