Alyx attended the birth of my second child as a last minute change of plans when my scheduled doula was unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances. We contacted Alyx when contractions were 5 minutes apart. Alyx immediately dropped everything and met us at the hospital - she was prompt, kind, and completely prepared. Her bedside manner was exactly what I needed with suggestions and alternative ways to be conducting and managing active/transitioning labor.
I would trust Alyx wholeheartedly through another birth. Her physical and emotional support, wisdom, and demeanor was invaluable throughout labor and the golden hour to myself and my husband. Her presence allowed my husband to stay by my side during my entire labor and she stayed with me while the NICU tended to my baby in the first minutes of his life. She was not shy to step in when I needed physical support during contractions when my husband didn't know how to care for the pain - she was a literal pain relief for me.
I could never express enough gratitude I have for Alyx and the work she did during one of my most intimate moments of my life.
