My husband and I hired Sarah midway through my third trimester. We were immediately struck by Sarah's professionalism and expertise. She asked a lot of questions to ensure she understood me, my preferences, my fears, and my desires for my birth. She was reassuring and knowledgable leading up to labor- checking in often to see how things were going. Once labor started, Sarah was the first person we texted. She came to our home and I immediately felt more at ease. Sarah is a calming and reliable presence. When it was time to go to the hospital, she drove ahead and we followed her. She knew exactly where to park and how to navigate the hospital. Sarah was aware of all my medical preferences and helped my husband and I navigate triage to ensure my preferences were respected. I truly don't think I would've had such a positive birth experience if Sarah had not been there. She came prepared with a bag full of tools. Ultimately, the massage ball on my back ended up being one of my favorites. She helped me get into different positions, and she guided my husband in various counter pressure techniques he could use on me. Since she had spent so much time getting to know me prior to birth, Sarah knew exactly what words I needed to hear in order to keep going. When I started to wobble, she was there. After my baby was born and we'd had time together, Sarah helped used establish a good latch. I credit much of our success breastfeeding with Sarah's gentle determination in that first hour to get my baby on my breast. Following birth, Sarah sent us the photos and videos she took on her phone throughout labor; I will cherish them forever. She checked in frequently and sent us advice and helpful tips. Sarah truly cares about her clients and making sure they have the best possible birth and postpartum experience. I would recommend Sarah to anyone looking for a doula.
