My husband and I had the immense privilege of having Katherine as our postpartum doula for our first 6 weeks as brand new parents.
You can tell this isn't just a job for Katherine in the way she puts her entire heart into every day. We were so lucky to have her in our corner; She not only took care of our physical needs (watching the baby so we could sleep, nourishing meals, relaxing massages, belly wrapping, etc), but also watched out for our emotional/mental health needs. She also taught us many practical skills such as bathing our baby, clipping his nails and entertaining/enriching him during his wake windows. Most importantly though, she continuously empowered us, reminding us that we DO know what we're doing and that we're the best parents for our little one- something that was very easy to lose sight of while in the thick of it.
My husband, our baby and I all cried on Katherine's last day- it really felt like we had a close family member caring for us, and we were sad to say goodbye to her.
