I chose Dayna Pollard as my doula primarily because her birth package included birth photography. Capturing my baby’s birth was incredibly important to me, as these moments are once-in-a-lifetime and cannot be recreated. Unfortunately, my overall experience was very disappointing and has left me without the photos I paid for or any communication.
From the beginning, communication was inconsistent. I had difficulty securing an intake appointment and attempted to meet weeks in advance, but we did not meet until the evening before I gave birth. By that time I felt rushed and unprepared going into labor.
There were also ongoing issues related to payment communication. I was repeatedly told that the remaining portion of her fee had not been received, despite the payment being sent to the email address listed on her website immediately after completing the required forms. Due to the confusion and concern expressed, I contacted my bank to cancel the original transaction something they were only able to do as an exception and resent the payment to her personal email as requested. This added unnecessary stress during an already vulnerable time.
After my baby was born, I followed up multiple times regarding my birth photos. Unfortunately, I never received the photos, nor did I receive any response to my messages. At this point, months have passed, and I feel completely ignored. These photos meant everything to me, and not having them has been incredibly upsetting.
I am not sharing this experience to be unkind, but to be honest and transparent for other parents considering her services. I simply wanted what was promised and what I paid for. Clear communication and the birth photos included in the package.
