Testimonial for Hilary Storey, CD(DONA)
Hilary was our birth doula and she was wonderful! It was my first time giving birth and I wanted to do it unmedicated. During the Zoom interview call, my husband and I felt the most comfortable her and that we communicated best with her.
I went past my due date, and Hilary was very responsive over text and phone checking in and answering my questions. At the hospital I quickly settled into a coping routine, and she had other things I could try if that changed. I felt like she was very adaptable, which I think is important as I didn't know ahead of time what would be helpful for me for coping.
My main concern ahead of giving birth was that I would worry that things were not progressing or something was not as it should be, and that this would disrupt my ability to cope. Hilary's calm presence allowed me stay focused. I felt very assured with her there and the few times I had doubts she was there to answer them. Overall labor went as I had hoped, and I feel like a big part of that was due to having Hilary as my doula. She is down to earth and adaptable and has a calm presence.
If I got pregnant again I would hire Hilary again, which I think says it all!
