I've worked with Jen for two unmedicated, vaginal births, and can't speak highly enough of her care, integrity, advocacy, support, and overall bad-assery. For my first birth, I needed to go unmedicated because of underlying health issues. This made me very anxious. To help prep, Jen connected me with a Hypnobirthing coach and guided me through everything I could expect during L&D. She even attended a neurology appointment with me during pregnancy to help understand pain management options given my underlying condition. When my contractions started, she was available over phone while I labored at home. When my labor stalled out, she guided me through next steps. When we decided to go to the hospital to begin an induction, she came right away. When active labor started with a vengeance, she was there to support me and my husband with exercises and supports to help ease the pain. She was right by our side for the entirety of our 14 hour, overnight labor. When the hospital was pushing an epidural, she took charge to be our advocate in explaining why we would not move ahead with that option, and even worked with the charge nurse to ensure anesthesia wasn't allowed in our room. She moved me into different positions to help labor progress, liaised between us and hospital staff, and coached me through 90 minutes of pushing.

For my second birth, she attended an ECV procedure with us when our baby turned breech at 38 weeks. When I went into labor, she came to the hospital for yet another overnight labor. Unfortunately, after delivering my baby vaginally, it was realized that I had placenta accreta and needed to go into emergency surgery. While I was under and it was determined that I needed a hysterectomy, she advocated for me with the surgical staff to ensure my ovaries would remain intact to avoid menopause. She stayed with my husband and newborn son for 4 hours. We love Jen, and would use her again and again if we needed.
