Char was absolutely incredible. Throughout my pregnancy, she was a wonderful resource for any questions I had. As a patient seeking my 2nd VBAC, I was excited by Char's extensive experience, especially in regards to VBAC's. The conversations and consultations we had leading up to my due date helped me feel empowered & confident- something I had not felt in my past pregnancies. That confidence only grew as I'd mention at doctors appointments that Char was my doula and received only amazing feedback about her services. While I did not get the VBAC I'd hoped for due to circumstances out of our control, Char was right next to me in the OR, holding my hand until my husband was able to come in for an emergency c-section. Everything happened so quickly, but Char was right next to me explaining exactly what was going on and reassuring me. Having so much experience, Char knows most of the staff on the L&D floor, which I found extremely comforting. During and after the operation, Char took photos for us that we would not have had otherwise, and stayed with us until we were settled in our room. My husband felt so reassured by Char's presence as well. In the few days since we've had our baby, Char's name has come up so many times and we agree that the entire birthing experience was enhanced by having her with us. The only regret I have is that I didn't have Char with me for my first two deliveries!
