My husband and I were very grateful for Leah's support. It was so helpful to have someone that I could bounce questions off of and express concerns to. With past birth trauma, it was good to have Leah on our team.
With how quick my labor went and how quickly my contractions built, I didn't know how I was going to manage the pain; I really was thinking "I don't think I can do this without an epidural!" But I told myself to let that thought go and Leah and my husband knew I wanted to have a natural birth. I don't think we would have had the birth we had without Leah advocating for us to the nurses especially; who were really pushing pitocin, etc. And she was super helpful with getting into different positions to relax and also encourage things along. That was key for me in all of it I think. Because you can spiral into a mind of fear, anxiety, and/or even just go blank when you're in the zone. Even with birth classes etc.
Very grateful for Leah, just wish I had her with me the first time around!
