I truly do not think I would have made it through in as strong a state if it were not for Becca's guidance and support. My pregnancy was complex and stressful and ended in a traumatic birth experience, and Becca stood by me through all of it. She was there before I gave birth to be a supportive ear and offer advice where she could. She never missed a phone call and always followed up to make sure I was okay. She was there during my birth. First, as the doula you'd expect, helping with new positions, massages, and aromatherapy. I was in labor for 60 hours and she helped me find some peace and relaxation when I didn't think I'd make it. When my worst fears became reality and I ended up in an emergency c-section, she was by my side in the OR, playing music and advocating for me every step of the way. When she learned that my son was going into emergency surgery just hours after I gave birth, she stayed long after the contract said she would to offer additional support. And she's been there after, as a support, as a friend, and as another mother who truly knows just how difficult the postpartum world is.
While this is my first pregnancy, I feel I can say two things for certain. 1) In case you're on the fence, yes, you need a doula. 2) Becca is one of the best out there and she will be an unconditional support for you every step of the way.
