I highly recommend Austin and the Birth Collective team for your pregnancy journey! They are all so amazing, hilarious, incredibly smart and compassionate. The entire pregnancy they were available to answer all the questions that came up regarding baby, pregnancy, and birth. I felt very supported all along the way! When it came time to labor, they were all incredibly helpful and I never felt like I was in the dark with my induction. Austin was the doula on call for my birth and she was just exactly who I needed. She was calm, peaceful and strong all at the same time. She arrived as my contractions were starting to get really intense and she quickly had me trying different coping strategies and teaching me how to breathe through the contractions. It was a very difficult time but I never felt alone, I felt supported the entire time and encouraged. Austin also helped my husband with different ways to support me. When it came time to push, Austin literally taught me how to push out a baby! I never knew I would need someone to tell me how to do that but there is actually a way to do it. Once my sweet baby arrived, Austin helped my daughter latch onto me and made sure I was doing good. All three doulas are still available to answer any questions during postpartum, which was also very helpful as a first time mom! Austin came over to my house a month after birth for a postpartum visit and it was a great visit where I got to debrief birth and the first month of being a mom. She also gave my husband and I helpful tips on feeding baby, sleep, and all the random questions that came up.
Also, I am so so so glad I made sure to book the doula package with birth photos! The photos are so incredibly special to me and Austin did such a lovely job capturing the moments candidly while being a supportive doula the entire time.
