Hiring Lawren and her doula partner, Meghan, was one of the best decisions I made for my first pregnancy & birth. They offered consistent guidance and reassurance, regularly reviewing pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum details, and addressing my numerous questions and anxieties.
Lawren was one of the last men standing at the end of my very long & difficult labor. The rest of my birth team traded off & on taking shifts during my labor, but Lawren stuck with me the entire time & never made me feel like a burden. She was a constant presence helping me manage contractions, offering words of encouragement, guiding me through various birthing positions, and making sure I ate & stayed hydrated. She also decorated my birth space with lights, (battery operated) candles, & peaceful music to create a birth space that felt like it was out of a magazine.
Lawren was also a wealth of knowledge regarding all things birth & postpartum. I felt so empowered with knowledge after every meeting with her. She always explained things in great detail, & always used metaphors & lots of examples to help lay it out in ways I could understand. She also has a hilarious sense of humor & always kept things fun & light.
I truly don't know what I would have done without her during labor! The guidance, support, & care she provided was instrumental in my having a successful vaginal delivery!
