I'd recommend Shannon as a doula to any family with a newborn who is curious about night support. Shannon came highly recommended to us by another doula. As many couples might, we had some trepidations about having someone in our home at night and helping to care for our newbown baby. In retrospect, we had nothing to worry about, and working with Shannon was truly an incredible experience, one I would highly recommend to others.
Shannon is experienced and really incredible with babies. You can tell from the moment she holds your child in her arms how much she truly loves what she does. She cared so well for our son in his first 6 weeks and truly helped us establish healthy nighttime sleeping habits and helped us get some much needed worry-free sleep as parents. An added bonus? She's also a fan of your furry family member! Our dog warmed to her immediately and looked forward to her visits as much as the rest of us did.
Shannon was an incredible trusted resource for us as we navigated parenthood as first time parents. Shannon would sit up and chat with me during nighttime feedings: learning about my husband and I and providing some lovely companionship during what can feel like an isolating time as a freshly postpartum mother. I'd chat with her about how our son was doing and appreciated her perspective on navigating some of the challenging aspects of figuring out parenthood.
We always looked forward to "Shannon nights", knowing we'd have some extra support on those days and could rest easier. I'm confident that our experience with our baby in the first 6 weeks was enhanced by the extra help and support that Shannon lovingly provided to us. We would recommend Shannon to any parents looking for extra support with their newborn!
