Prior to experiencing my first pregnancy, I was terrified of giving birth. Once I found out our little one was on their way, I knew I wanted extra support from a Doula for encouragment, guidance and confidence. Melissa checked all those boxes and then some. Her calming presence, training in BRM and all things birth prep, along with her support postpartum, I believe, really made my experience a positive one. I could have not gone through a 35 hour plus first labor without her. She trusted my body, my baby and the timing of his birth. She was there every minute calming me, involving my husband and suggesting different things to try, that made my unmedicated birth possible and without fear. I can't sing her praises enough and encourage everyone, especially those with a goal of unmedicated birth, to have a doula. Melissa is the best you can come by in my opinion. When I found out I was pregnant with my second, I knew I didnt want to go through birth without her. There's such peace of mind having someone in my corner that I can trust, help my husband and I make informed descisions and very pratically, know when to head to the birth center. From the home visits prior to birth, to the support in labor (laboring with me at home and birth center), to the visits and phone calls after birth, it's something I can't put a price tag on. I truly believe Melissa is a huge part in having two positive unmedicated births!
