Hiring Tatiana was the best decision I made during pregnancy. She is well connected in the community and had great recommendations for pelvic floor therapists, acupuncturists, chiropractors, etc. I was happy to learn that she already knew and had worked closely with the midwives I was seeing (Puget Sound Birth Center). During our in-person visits she gave a very honest, realistic picture of what to exepct during labor, and held me accountable to prepare for my goal of having an unmedicated birth.
While in labor my contractions started to become intense in the middle of the night and I wasn't coping well. I felt relieved as soon as Tatiana arrived, her presence alone was incredibly reassuring. Her comfort techniques worked really well and she spoke to me slowly and in a soft voice which is exactly the energy I needed. She guided me through various positions to help labor progress and made sure I was eating enough to sustain my energy.
My labor didn't follow a normal pattern; we thought I was still in early labor because my contractions were still far apart and loosing intensity, but all the sudden baby's head was coming out and I was pushing! I'm beyond relieved we had Tatiana with us, she called my midwife who came to our house and we proceeded to have an unplanned home birth. When my husband and I reflected on the birth of our son he brought up multiple times how glad he was that Tatiana was with us, she put *us both* at ease.
Tatiana is very caring and attentive after the birth too - it is so nice having her check in regularly after such an intense experience and give thoughtful advice on how to make it through the first weeks of postpartum.
Feeling blessed to have had her by our side during this special time welcoming our son to the world!
