Lily helped my partner and I welcome our first baby by supporting us with nighttime help during our first month postpartum. I would definitely recommend everyone getting this type of support so you can have nights of rest and focus on your recovery. Everyone's journey is different but even if your baby sleeps well through the night, it's nice to know that there will be specific nights where you can be totally hands off and simply rest while someone takes care of your baby.
Outside of just watching the baby and caring for the baby (feeds, baths, diaper changes, et ) Lily is also open to other tasks should you need help. If you want laundry folded, breakfast prepped, light cleaning - she's very open to doing these as long as the baby is taken care of.
She also has a library of local folks to support other needs (baby sitting, mom groups, lactation) so I'm planning to reach out to her post doula work when needed.
Personally, I think having a night doula a few times per week also helped me not create dependency issues and have some independence and understanding that the baby is Ok without me too. While this is difficult when the baby is young, I found that immediately having others support me with the baby meant I could rest and not worry about her. This was importsnt as I've seen many friends struggle w this and PPD.
