As first time parents, I can safely say that we had no idea what to expect with our pregnancy, labor and delivery, and postpartum recovery. We had no plan, only to survive it. Enter Caryn. She came into our home with warmth, compassion, and so much knowledge and experience. She discussed the stages of my pregnancy and what I might be experiencing at any given time during all of the trimesters. She went over the practicalities and logistics of labor without scaring us. When my doctor suggested an induction at 39 weeks because of my age and potential growth restriction of our baby, Caryn provided me with information and emotional support that helped us make the decision to move forward with our doctor's suggestion. And our labor and delivery was beautiful, dare I say enjoyable. Caryn was there from start to finish, a grounding and reassuring presence while we brought our child earthside. We also booked Caryn for postpartum care. And trust me, more than any baby toy or gadget, the birthing person really, really needs postpartum care. I say with absolute certainty that our postpartum experience would have been quite bleak without Caryn's presence in our home. By the end of our time with Caryn, I felt like she was part of our family and it was hard to say goodbye. Gratefully, I still consider her a friend and will always regard her with the most love and respect for how she showed up for our family.
