As a first time mom, and a rather anxious newbie, Thalia was a wonderful support to my husband and myself during our birthing journey. In the months leading up to our birth, the information she shared with us helped give us an idea about what to expect and she was incredibly knowledgeable and able to answer our questions.
We wanted a natural birth and so we opted for a home birth, and decided to rent her birth pool kit from her. The kit was easy to set up and simple to use. During the birthing process, Thalia was a calming presence. She applied counter pressure for me, talked me through my contractions, helped my husband set up the birth pool, rubbed essential oils on me, assisted me with breathing strategies, and supported us through the difficult decision of transferring to the hospital for pain management.
After the birth, Thalia met my family at my house and helped clean up the birth pool and all our birthing supplies so that when we returned home from the hospital our house looked normal. Also, it was nice to be able to sit down with her a few weeks later and debrief the experience.
Overall, Thalia was excellent support during what felt like an extremely vulnerable experience. She cared a lot about empowering us to make informed decisions that felt right for us. She is an intuitive caregiver, really kind, and an open communicator. If we decide to have another child, we would definitely love for Thalia to be part of our birthing team again.
