Kayla was our doula for the first month postpartum. She is an accomplished doula and an amazing person to have around when you are at your most vulnerable! Below are only a few reasons why:
1) Punctuality and Reliability: She was always on time (not even a minute late) and extremely reliable regarding days of work. She always communicated any change in plans early on and found replacements days and times.
2) Care for recovering mom: She was one of the greatest reasons that my recovery after birth (c-section) went smoothly. She made sure I was not moving around too much and always checked how my physical and emotional recovery was going. Also recommended things to ask OB to make sure recovery was on track.
3) Care for baby and teaching first time parents: She took care of my son since he was 3 days old. She is confident and careful and has lot of experience with newborns and infants. As a first time mom, I learned a ton from her about how to take care of my son and understand his newborn cues and needs. She also took initiative and took care of anything that needed to be done for the baby (laundry, dishwashing, etc) without the need for me giving specific instructions. She also maintained excellent hygiene which was important for my son in those early days. She was also always available on text for any support that we needed outside of the hours she was at our place.
Both my husband and I would highly recommend Kayla if you are looking for a doula who is knowledgeable, trustworthy, and reliable. She sets the bar very high for childcare and doula support.
