After LeNay supported me through my first pregnancy and birth, I immediately knew I wanted to work with her again in my second. She was one of the first calls I made early in my pregnancy.
LeNay supported me through my entire pregnancy, offering suggestions, ideas, and tools for the journey that were aligned with my goals -- everthing from preparing my body for labor, talking me through a provider switch, and navigating postpartum. When I was laboring at home, she offered practical suggestions for catalyzing my labor, which worked beautifully, and she was a loving and encouraging presence in the room as I delivered my baby (a beautiful waterbirth, just like I'd dreamed of). And as an added bonus, she took the most precious photos of those first moments with my baby that I'll treasure forever.
Doing this twice now, I feel so clearly that we're not meant to do this alone. LeNay was the loving presence and wise companion on this wild journey of having a baby, and I'm not sure I have words for what that meant. Because of LeNay, my memories of this part of life -- pregnancy, labor/delivery, postpartum -- will forever be marked by her love and care, of feeling like I mattered and wasn't alone, even in the hard moments, and that's everything.
Hiring a doula is such a great investment for so many reasons, and I would 100% recommend LeNay for anyone looking for doula support. She is truly the best person I could imagine having in my corner through this journey.
