If you are looking for a doula and by some error in the universe Mel has not already been recommended to you, rest assured you can stop looking now. Working with Mel was the best gift we could have given ourselves. They made sure every concern was met with equal parts deep compassion and deep knowledge. We had some reservations about the experience of delivering at a major medical center despite it being our first choice. Mel was able to share strategies for achieving our labor and delivery goals, guide our preparation according to our priorities, and help us make critical decisions when the time came. Mel was able to make sure that from the moment our baby was born, I was able to breastfeed -- both because they strongly urged me to take a class beforehand and because they were right by my side helping me nurse my baby for the first time. Mel was a critical piece of our transition to becoming parents in so many ways, and we can't recommend them highly enough.
