Denise is an amazing doula, and I would highly recommend her services to any expecting family in need of support during their postpartum period. As first-time parents without grandparents around to lend support, it can be overwhelming when it seems there are so many opinions and methods for parenting. It was awesome how she was familiar with so much that is out there and helped us to siphon through much of this. She was never rigid and her knowledge and warmth helped us build confidence during this stressful time. She also took the time to carefully explain some of her own techniques and tips. My husband was particularly appreciative of her patience and willingness to help guide him as he felt nervous around our tiny baby. Additionally, her natural gift for soothing my little one and recognizing her cues allowed me to finally get the much-needed rest I’d been missing.
Densie is positive, easygoing, and communicates with such warmth. She shared her knowledge, offered non-judgmental support, and gently guided us whenever we needed it. Her care for her work and the families she supports is evident, not only in her time with us, but also in the way she routinely checked in on days she wasn’t here, as well as her thoughtful follow-up after our time together ended.
