Testimonial for Jackie Prescott
Jackie was our doula this past spring for our first child. I got induced early so my birth was not at all what I expected, but her presence helped me feel grounded and supported while making decisions. My husband and I were obviously so nervous and even though the staff explained our choices through the birth process, we didn't actually understand all the layers to it. Jackie was able to calmly explain to us our options and advocates for us by exploring other options as well that our birth team did not mention or kind of glazed over. No amount of YouTube or Google searches will prepare you to make those decisions when you are experiencing one of the most difficult moments of your life. She helped us consider things that we didn't think to ask and made sure we fully understood our situation. While we were really in the thick of things, she struck a great balance of helping but also directing my partner of how and when to help. I think this was important to help keep the peace when I was in pain and at time wasn't able to vocalize what I needed. We couldn't be more thankful to have found Jackie and District Doulas for the birth of our first child!
