My husband and I were beyond nervous when we found out we were having twins. We were living in Key West at the time and knew there were very limited care options for my pregnancy and birth. We decided to look for a doula since it was also our first pregnancy. We found Meg through the Florida Keys Healthy Start Coalition and were so beyond lucky to get matched with her. Meg is the kindest, most easy going and helpful person. She was extremely responsive when it came to any question we had ( we had a lot), and would come over in an instant to help us with advice for setting up the house, setting up the car seats, teaching me about how a breast pump works, etc. She would continuously share helpful websites and books to make sure I was mentally prepared for birth. When the actual brith came along, she made sure to advocate for everything I wanted on my birth plan. With twins, a C section was being pushed on me but she helped me stand my ground to deliver vaginally. She was an absolute godsend the entire labor. There was no awkwardness when I needed help in the shower, or when she held a bag while I was puking. She even slept on the floor while I was waiting to dilate. She was there every second of the birth and made my family feel like we were the most important people in the world. Everything went so well and I dont think it would’ve gone the same without her. She helped out postpartum, checking in on me and the babies and would offer to come over anytime if I needed a break to shower or nap. I can’t recommend Meg enough. She isn’t just my doula, she’s now a forever friend to our family.
