My husband, Jesse, and I hired Aubrey as our doula for the birth of our first child. She was one of the doulas that was recommended to us by our midwife. After our initial meeting with Aubrey we knew she was the right fit for our family.
Aubrey is the most knowledgeable and experienced doula we met with when considering who to hire. This was hugely important, especially if something were to go unexpectedly during the birth, we knew we could trust Aubrey to advocate for us and that we could trust her to support us in whatever decision we made.
Thankfully everything did go smoothly during the labor and birth of our son. Aubrey was a steady support throughout the birthing process and respected my husbands role in being my main support throughout the birth.
Aubrey paid attention to the little details that are often overlooked in labor but are so important! She got the music playing for us, made sure I was staying hydrated and nourished, checked in on my husband to see if he needed anything as he attended to me. Aubrey also provided simple words of encouragement during labor, as well as some tips on breathing during the pushing phase that was SO helpful and helped me actually figure out how to push. After our son was born Aubrey stuck around to support as needed and followed up with a house visit the week after.
We also took Aubrey's birth prep class and are so thankful we did! The class made a HUGE impact on our confidence and knowledge base as I went into labor. It also helped us feel so much more comfortable having these knew experiences together since Aubrey's classes prompted us to discuss ahead of time the knows and unknows of the birthing process and to practice ways my husband could support me during labor.
We cannot recommend Aubrey to you enough if you are considering her as your doula! She is truly amazing and I am so thankful we had her there for the birth of our son to support our family!
