Hiring Shaina as a labor doula was one of the best decisions I could have made! Shaina quickly created a sense of trust with her warmth, high level of knowledge, and her ability to really listen to my wishes. Knowing that I'd have her with me gave me a huge sense of calm during my pregnancy as a first time mom, and I can say that I was completely stress free because of that. She gave me advice on how to prepare my body for birth, and was instrumental in making my labor go as smoothly as possible. I had a medicated birth but wanted to delay getting an epidural, and there is no way I would have been able to manage the pain without her tools and guidance. She was extremely supportive by providing a sense of calm, advocating for me, and physically moving my body into different spinning babies positions to help progress my labor after I got an epidural (preventing me from needing an induction).
