Testimonial for Jet City Doulas
Jet City Doulas provided incredible support for my partner and me through an incredibly challenging birth process. Had our birth experience been smoother, I'd spend more of these 2,000 characters talking about how well-held and educated we felt by the Doulas leading up to birth. As it is, I want to highlight how far above and beyond the Doulas went for us, given what we went through. We went through 60 hours of labor, including 4 hours of active pushing, followed by an unplanned c-section. My partner and child both suffered severe medical complications during and after the birth, resulting in a week-long hospital stay. Through it all, we felt so held and cared for by the Doulas. I am so glad we had them with us; I cannot imagine going through what we experienced without their support.
Because of what we went through, we had all three with us through different parts of the process, and each offered rock-solid support. Katie was the first; she transformed the hospital room into a cozy, magical-feeling place with lights and decorations and supported us through many hours of labor. Mariah eventually replaced her and was with us through active pushing, the c-section, and the first post-birth medical complications. While I was in the NICU with my child and my partner was in recovery, Mariah and Katie skillfully sorted out a time-critical problem with the hospital to help our child get the care she needed. Finally, not long after things seemed well and Mariah left, my partner suffered even worse medical complications. Jen came to the hospital and held us so well through one of the most traumatic experiences of our lives. She was the main reason all 3 of us received the care and support we needed during that ordeal.
It has been a delight to remain connected with the Doulas as well; they are all beautiful human beings of the utmost quality, and I am eager to give them the strongest recommendation I can.
