If you want the short version, Hire Bree - you won’t regret it.
If you want the long version, buckle up.
We ended up choosing to switch providers at 35 weeks pregnant which was what was best for us, but honestly - without Bree & her ability to listen to my fears, and help me advocate for myself, I don’t know if I would have had the balls to make the change.
So many things about our 2nd labor and delivery were different than the first. I probably would have given birth in the car if I wouldn’t have listened and started heading to the birth center. Lol, even as a 2nd time mom, I had no idea how to gauge how fast things were progressing. Bree knew, immediately.
The support and guidance Bree provided was pivotal. The ability she has to present options without judgement is a gift. She is so knowledgeable but also just a joy to have in what is usually stressful. She added so much to our birth experience with her presence and took absolutely nothing away.
To me, I thought the thing that mattered most to me would be the support I received while giving birth…but then we got the photo gallery. And I cannot tell you how many times I have looked through those photos. They are some of the most precious possessions of my life. They are raw and beautiful and absolutely a gift.
I wasn’t sure if I would want to see images of myself in labor. I can’t even tell you how wrong I was. I wish I could give every mother the gift of seeing herself captured by Bree while she is having her baby.
If you have fear about labor & delivery and want someone who will let you borrow their bravery, hire her.
If you want a doula who will allow your partner to be the hero and be fully involved in the birth, hire her.
If you want beautiful images that will capture one of the most sacred things you will experience in life, hire her.
