Before my experience, I didn't know what a doula was or what they did. I thought it was similar to a midwife with an at home birth. I'm glad I looked into it because it was so much more. I feel like all these choices opened up for me as Michelle and I did our consultation. I decided this was what I was looking for in helping with my situation of my husband and I being the only ones living in SC while our relatives were far away. I felt so at ease and confident to have another person help me when I delivered my baby. Michelle has so much to offer with all she is certified to do as a doula and her own experiences as a mom. She helped explain the whole process and what your body goes through from start to finish. About a month ahead of the estimated due date we went over the things I wanted to try to achieve in the delivery room at the hospital and postpartum. Some things I knew but there was a lot that I wished I would've known about sooner with my first child. I think we would've made a lot of different choices and had an easier birth. If my husband and I decide to have another baby in the future, I will be requesting her again. I feel as if I gained a friend and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a doula.
