Maria was a wonderful doula! I couldn't have asked for a better birthing experience, and it was because of her. She was so helpful, kind, funny and down to earth. I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED having Maria as my doula. She made me feel so comfortable whenever she was around, like we had been friends for a long time. She never made me feel like I had to do something if I didn't want to, but she offered me many tools to help cope with the pain of labor and move things along when my labor felt like it was going on forever. She helped create a peacful, caring and loving environment to help me have a successful VBAC. She always remained positive, even when I felt like things were going horribly and encouraged me to keep going. It was because of her encouragment and coaching for me and my husband that I was able to labor naturally the whole time. She helped me see I was capable of doing more than I thought I could in labor.
When I was looking for a doula I wanted to find someone who cared about people and was passionate about empowering and educating women to have the best birth possible. Maria is exactly that person. Her passion to educate her clients and women in general is evident just in casual conversation with her. I could tell from the start that being a doula wasn't just a job, but a product doing things she truly believes in. I am so thankful to have had Maria at my birth and involved in my family's life.
