After my husband and I found out we were expecting our second child, hiring Stephanie as our doula again was one of the first decisions we made. Even though we had been through it all once before, we still knew how priceless it would be to have Stephaine a part of this journey - and man, was I glad we had her. Despite my first baby coming a day early, this second baby took her sweet time and arrived eight days late. Stephanie was there for me every step of those tiring, uncomfortable, mentally exhausting days. She gave me daily encouragement, connected me with a fantastic chiropractor who helped me prepare my body, sent me articles with tips and tricks, and answered every late night “maybe tonight” text. She talked me through my impending induction, made sure I knew all of my options, and encouraged me and my husband to lead the way with every decision. When induction finally got me into labor, Stephanie was there to help me through contractions, get my body ready, involve my husband during labor, and was by my side as I delivered our baby. Even though the timing of this birth was not what I had planned, Stephanie helped me bring to fruition the peaceful and empowering labor and delivery we had been planning for. And just like after our first birth, the care didn’t stop there. She stayed in touch for weeks answering all of our questions, sharing contacts of expert colleagues, and making sure our transition to a family of four was going well. I cannot imagine going through pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum without Stephanie.
