Elli made my postpartum experience as a first time mom something that was cherished and enjoyed rather than stressful and sleep-deprived - how many moms can say that? You only have one postpartum recovery period and those first weeks/months are so defining - instead of the tense stressful memories that I could have been left with, I have only positive memories, where I was able to bond with my newborn, learn the best tips and tricks from Elli to care for her, and be able to focus on my recovery. That's a gift I will keep with me forever. Elli taught me so much about newborn care, answered all my questions, and was a warm, comforting, competent presence during recovery. I also appreciated that Elli was always who I was coordinating with directly. I considered some local doula agencies but didn't like how they overemphasized that since I was contracting with the agency I would not be guaranteed the same doula for all visits. I didn't want a revolving door of people coming in and seeing me at my most vulnerable and not knowing if I'd connect with them - I wanted one doula who I could meet ahead of time and learn if they were the right person for me, and Elli absolutely was. I can't recommend her enough. I already know that when I become pregnant with my second child, the first person I'll message will be Elli so that I can get on her calendar.
