As a first-time mom, I wanted to find a doula who could help both my husband and me feel calm, informed, and supported throughout labor and postpartum. Megan did exactly that — and went above and beyond.
During my pregnancy, she made sure we felt comfortable and confident about what was to come. She shared valuable information on topics like the phases of labor, labor positions, breastfeeding, and more. Megan was always easy to reach and available to answer questions or offer support whenever we needed it. She even met me for a walk to help me stay active and check in on how I was feeling — I always knew she was just a text or phone call away.
When I went into active labor, she came to our home in the early hours of the morning and supported me (and helped my husband support me) through contractions. When it was time to head to the hospital, she followed us there and continued to provide comfort measures, positional suggestions, emotional reassurance, and a calm, grounding presence. She transformed the hospital room into a cozy birthing space with dim lighting, candles, essential oils, and more.
Megan was there for whatever we needed — offering counter pressure during contractions, bringing me sips of water, or even running to the car to grab our bags. After our son was born, she made sure we were comfortable and settled before leaving the hospital.
In the first few weeks postpartum, she even dropped off homemade freezer meals and baked goods, which truly felt like a lifesaver as we adjusted to life with a newborn.
Overall, I highly recommend Megan for her incredible emotional, physical, informational, and partner support throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I would absolutely work with her again for future births.
