It’s hard to pick what to focus on here since a lot stands out. We are deeply grateful for Kimberly’s presence and efforts during our labor and delivery (as well as in our prenatal and postpartum sessions).
I believe her knowledge and efforts made it possible to have the lowest intervention birth possible following my induction. She was a sounding board when we navigated decisions in the hospital. She provided support and position guidance to help encourage baby to descend and navigate into the birth canal when baby had a mind of his own. She helped keep me going throughout a long labor with hands on support and bodywork.
We are particularly grateful for her quick response and successful efforts to resolve the situation and notify our care team after a scary moment (deceleration) during labor, when Kimberly responded effectively while hospital staff were still absent. After experiencing the intensity and journey of labor, Kimberly’s support, and how our nurses were surprisingly hands off, I’m honestly unsure how people manage to birth these days without numerous interventions without a doula.
She has a wealth of knowledge and brings a calm and focused presence. Kimberly supported our advocacy efforts after helping us identify our preferences. I’m walking away with a birth in which I feel really good about the decisions I made and how it unfolded.
Also, her prenatal sessions prepared us well and were extremely informative as well.
