As soon as I found out I was pregnant, I knew I wanted to have a doula by my side. Diane came highly recommended by my midwives, and I’m so incredibly grateful she was available. From our very first phone call, I could feel her warmth and kindness radiating through the line—I instantly knew she was the perfect fit for us. My original plan was to give birth at a birth center, but due to high blood pressure, I was sent to the local hospital. During this unexpected change in plans, Diane was a calm and supportive presence. She listened patiently as I processed my fears and frustrations, giving me the space to vent and helping me work through my anxiety. When I was 7 cm dilated, my husband called Diane at 4 a.m., and she arrived at the hospital within the hour. From the moment she walked in, she was right by my side—holding my hand, stroking my hair, and gently encouraging me through the final hours of labor. Some of my most cherished memories from my birth experience are because of Diane. I’ll never forget the moment she asked if she could pray for me when I was feeling scared, or hearing her voice cheering me on as my baby boy made his way into the world. I tear up just thinking about how safe, seen, and supported she made me feel. Though we had only just met, Diane brought such love into the birth space that it felt like I had a lifelong friend with me. Diane, I truly cannot thank you enough. You are forever a part of my birth team, and I can’t wait to do it all again with you for my future babies! Thank you for helping welcome baby Noah into the world with such peace and joy.
