Raquel was wonderful! We were very nervous first time parents, and Raquel soothed our nerves providing helpful information to prepare us for birth. She was an essential member of my care team, and allowed my husband to get some much needed rest after more than 24 hours of labor. She calmed down the tension and made the hospital room much more comfortable for us, and was especially compassionate helping me get into different positions, speaking kindly and with encouragement. She stayed with us in hospital longer than her contract stated she needed to when my birth stalled and lasted many hours longer than expected. She also provided a replacement doula when she needed to leave to ensure we were supported when our daughter arrived. She visited us postpartum, and answered all our questions and helped us navigate life a fragile newborn. I was on the fence about hiring a doula, but absolutely would recommend this for anyone, and Raquel is the cheerleader for the soul I didnt even know I needed.
