From the moment my contractions started, my doula was right there walking with me every step of the way. She kept me calm and centered through the entire labor and delivery gently directing my breathing, guiding me through different comfort techniques, and constantly reminding me how strong and capable I was in every moment. Her presence made what could have felt overwhelming feel empowering and peaceful.
But where she really became my superhero was postpartum. I couldn’t imagine those first weeks of newborn life without her. She stepped right in and helped create a daily rhythm that made my recovery and breast feeding journey so much smoother. She made sure I ate breakfast every morning (that’s true love), kept my pump and bottle parts endlessly washed (because we all know there are A LOT), and supported me so I could produce enough milk without added stress.
The best part? She kept my newborn overnight a few nights a week so I could actually get real sleep.The kind where you wake up and remember your name again.
In all seriousness, her care, structure and kindness gave me the space to heal, bond, and breathe during one of the most transformative times of my life.
Honestly I would highly suggest not having children unless you already have a doula like her booked. This was an amazing, unbelievably well deserved experience that every new parent deserves!!! 10/10 would highly recommend!
