We used Michele through District Doulas, as she happened to be on call when labor started, and we were lucky to have her with us during the process. She was able to offer a lot of movement and comfort techniques during my back labor to allow me to stay at home as long as possible. Because she knew so much about delivery, we felt confident staying at home as long as we could, which helped have the unmedicated delivery we wanted. She is a very experienced doula, and knew how everything regarding intake worked at the hospital (GWU), helping us get into a delivery room quickly without us stressing over it. She even went with us in the car to make sure we got to the right place! She also stayed after birth to help with nursing, which was much more helpful than the hospital provided support. I can confidently say her support enabled us to have the delivery we wanted and a very positive outcome. I would highly recommend Michele to anyone giving birth in the DMV.
