I would liken having Tiffany as my Doula for the birth of my first baby to someone winning the lottery on the first ticket they ever bought. The counsel, advocacy, and expertise that Tiffany offered us before, during, and after my son’s birth was central to the positive, fortifying, tender, beautiful, altogether expansive experience that was birthing my son! Of course this had nothing to do with a certain outcome, or reality comporting with my conception of what birth would be like. Rather, it had everything to do with how Tiffany made me and my partner feel throughout the process: empowered! I don’t mean that amorphously and I’m not talking just “vibes”. Our birth story is filled with specifics of how Tiffany’s knowledge and confidence, coupled with her measured deference, allowed me to be fully in the flow while trusting the direction in which we were flowing. This is true before the birth, during the birth, and after. I cannot imagine a more supporting doula. I am so grateful for Tiffany’s part in my birth story.
