Melissa supported me with the birth of my first baby and offered me essential insights, guidance, and help to embrace and implement a vision of a safe, calm and beautiful delivery. I had a hospital birth and she walked through feedback from my docotor with me ahead of time, worked with me on the details of my birth plan, including many I would have otherwise been completely unfamiliar with, and was with me throughout my 2-day labor. Her support with decision making when complications arose was invaluable and set me up to feel confident in determining critical next steps in the delivery room.
Perhaps most I importantly, she provided much needed support postpartum, helping to relieve my hips, back and full body from soreness after delivery. I was relieved when Melissa was available to help me process a miscarriage that I experienced after my first pregnancy. She provided spiritual, emotional and physical support that helped me process the loss and be open to the possibility of bringing life into the world again.
