I'm not sure where to start with how amazing having Kristin as our doula was.
Throughout my pregnancy everything had been going pretty smoothly and so my want for a doula really surrounded making sure I had someone who could advocate for me through the labour process and more than anything I had heard that doulas were great at helping your partner show up in the best possible way. Kristin from our first phone call gave us great advice and information on how to make our final trimester more comfortable and made my husband feel like he was such a big part of the process by doing all the right things. Kristin was always so responsive and often called to check in on me. Through the last few weeks of my pregnancy I had a few symptoms that seemed off and at one point I messaged her at 2am and she called and gave incredible advice.
Fast forward to the day of labour my contractions came in hard and fast and before I knew it we were in the thick of it. Kristin came over to our house and offered advice, tools and encouraging words when I needed it the most and gave my husband the advice he needed to help make me feel more comfortable. Sadly my birth was on the more traumatic side but I would never have known because Kristin was the backbone of the experience making me feel so comfortable and safe. She continued with us all the way through the birth and into after care helping me recover from the process but also keeping my spirits up and giving us great advice on how to deal with our new addition.
Post birth we had another visit with Kristin and again she was just amazing, there are literally no words to truly express how grateful I am to have had her there with us. I feel like we have made a friend for life and we will never forget the role she played in our birth of our beautiful baby boy.
