Testimonial for Susannah Glass
We warmed to Susannah straight away and chose her as a doula after having met a few others. I sought a doula with a practical, evidence-based mindset and experience of supporting pain-relief free births. Susannah came to our home twice to walk through what we needed to know. With this being my second birth, we emphasized on movements that could help labor progress and positions to help with pain. The explantions around how the baby's position influences birth was very helpful, especially as I reflected on my first birth.
When it came to giving birth, I laboured at home for about 3-4 hours with Susannah on the phone every now and again. She offered postioning and breathing suggestions that helped so much. To the point I was 9.5 cm dilated when I arrived at the hospital and Susannah was not able to make it on time! Thankfully the midwives were great, and I managed to have the unmedicated water birth I had hoped for.
