I met Beth at a gathering for a mutual friend and felt an instant connection. Her warmth, kindness, and sense of humor were infectious. At the time, I was trying to conceive and I knew that if I got pregnant, I would want Beth to be part of my journey.
Pregnancy was challenging for me; I operated with a lot of fear and anxiety. Through my relationship with Beth and with access to her amazing resources, I was able to gain a sense of confidence that ended up being critical in the precipitous delivery of my daughter.
When I arrived at the hospital, I was in the throes of labor. Beth happened to already be there and came to greet me outside of triage. When I saw her at the end of the hallway, an overwhelming calm came over me in an otherwise intensely stressful moment. This was such a recentering moment and one I will never forget.
While preparing for birth was amazing, what I cherished most of all were the handful of postpartum visits I had with Beth once I was home. In the aftermath of a life altering experience, her encouragement of my role as a new mother helped me get through some of my toughest moments.
I cannot imaging moving through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum without the connection and support from Beth.
