I honestly don't know where to begin. Luci is such a gift, especially to new mommas. I would not have been able to get through my pregnancy without her.
Not only does she have a tremendous amount of knowledge and experience as a former nurse, current doula and lactation consultant, but she is also a mother of 4, and that alone gave me confidence that she would not only know the answers to my many questions (thank you!), but that she would hold my hand and heart through the journey of becoming a mom for the first time.
I had an interesting journey throughout my pregnancy. I had a moderate risk that turned into a high-risk pregnancy with a breached baby as well as a bicornuate uterus (heart-shaped). I also went into labor at 32 weeks - and thankfully made it to 35, but it was still quite an anxious last few months before the birth. Luci was with me every step of the way.
I ended up having a C-section, and to be honest, it was the last resort. I was so scared. But Luci was right there with me, helping me with my breathing and comforting me the whole time. She was also my advocate! She knew everything that was going on and even chatted with the nurses. I felt so safe knowing she was aware of what was happening around me.
After the birth of our sweet baby girl, Luci helped me with breastfeeding. It took longer than anticipated to get her to latch, but she was determined to help me get to my goal of exclusively breastfeeding, and we are almost 8 months in!
Luci is simply phenomenal. As a Doula and as a human being. I have so much love and gratitude for her, more than she'll ever know.
My husband and I look forward to working with her again for baby #2 God willing!
