I can't recommend Jill Magoffin highly enough! From our very first video meeting, Jill was supportive, knowledgeable, and truly compassionate. I immediately felt like she was my cheerleader, and that's exactly what I knew I needed having my first baby in my 40s. During my labor, which ultimately led to an emergency c-section, Jill was a steady and reassuring presence every step of the way.
Despite having worked on a birth plan together, plans changed unexpectedly, and Jill helped me feel informed and empowered. She explained what was happening in a clear, calm, and understanding way—something I deeply appreciated in such a vulnerable and mentally foggy moment. Her presence gave both me and my partner a sense of peace and grounding amidst the uncertainty. My husband, who didn't even know what a doula was before, says he cannot imagine having gone through the birth of our baby without Jill. She sat with him during my c-section and kept him comfortable and sane, giving him updates as my procedure progressed and talked him through every step.
What stood out most was how available and present Jill was even when I was hospitalized weeks early to deliver, and she remained that way throughout the entire experience. She never made me/us feel alone, even when the situation became more medical than expected. Her emotional support, advocacy, and kindness made a huge difference during one of the most intense moments of my life. Jill was the reason I was given skin-to-skin with my baby right after delivery despite my health condition and I am so grateful for that!
