Alyssa is a knowledgeable, kind, organized, and caring postpartum doula. We had an extended NICU stay and she was so helpful in assisting us when we finally got home with our baby. There were so many things we were extra anxious about because of the NICU stay, and Alyssa really stepped in with a wealth of knowledge, tips, and tricks to help the transition. She helped us learn our baby's cues, helped troubleshoot the 'witching hour' fussiness, helped us establish a bedtime routine and flow that we still use, showed me how to baby wear confidently with a variety of carriers (this is truly game changing), and helped with household tasks like our baby's laundry so I could take a nap or work remotely since I did not have maternity leave. It was extremely helpful to bounce ideas off her and ask her opinion on the many choices a new parent faces, and my husband also really enjoyed learning from her. She gave us more confidence during an extremely vulnerable time and we are so so grateful. She was also just a really great listener and it was helpful to have someone to talk to during that time who had context and lots of experience and perspective. I would also highly recommend her grandparent class -- we had both our parents join as well as my sisters as soon-to-be-aunties over zoom a few weeks before the birth, and this helped SO SO much in establishing communication between the generations on updated parenting guidelines. Having this information come from an 'outside' source in a more formal presentation-and-discussion format definitely helped our family and also introduced them our trusted partner in the postpartum process. We strongly recommend her to any new parents, and should we have more children in the future, we definitely hope to work with her again!
